The HVCEO Area Information page below summarizes key variables from these detailed tables, and some other census sources released to date.

An important consideration for Census data users was well stated by David Grossman in his early 2011 Northwest Corner CT Population Report:

"In 2010, for the first time, the Census Bureau did not use a long form to gather detailed social and economic information. The 2010 Census used only a short form asking ten basic questions such as name, sex, age, date of birth, ethnicity, race, and home ownership status." Continuing, "Detailed socioeconomic information collected in past censuses will now be collected through the periodic American Community Survey. This Survey relies only on sample data and is therefore unlikely to generate usable data for small towns."

However, later in 2011 the Partnership for Strong Communities (PSC), a non-profit group providing resources for affordable housing, nicely organized some of the American Community Survey material for each Connecticut municipality. This advance is accessible below:
