SHERMAN
-A compilation of all ten elderly tax credit ordinances were forwarded
to the municipality.
-Meetings were attended concerning the new DEMHS Area 5 emergency
planning effort.
-Area health departments were assisted with their ongoing regional
planning process by
administration of their consultant staff and hosting monthly meetings
at the HVCEO office.
-The municipality was provided with copies of legislative program
and review committee reports
on probate courts and binding arbitration.
-Staff prepared the municipal application state funding for elderly
and handicapped transportation.
-The list of active and future transportation projects for the municipality
was updated from 11/04 to
3/06.
-An aerial photo of an area within the municipality was provided
to the chief elected official.
-An update was provided on the map of the CT Plan of Conservation
and Development.
-Members reviewed the approval from DEMHS for grants to be used
for coordinated emergency
video conferencing.
-The work program for the Sherman Center Pedestrian Plan was forwarded
to Natalie Serkin of that
Town.
-Work on the Sherman Center Pedestrian Plan continued. A roundabout
is to be considered at the
Routes 37 and 39 intersection. Then pedestrian study scope changes
were made to enable the
study of a roundabout at the northern Route 37 and 39 intersection
in Sherman.
-An update was provided on group purchasing thru the Capitol Region
Purchasing Council.
-Representatives of NU attended an HVCEO meeting to review their
proposed shoreline
management planning process.
-Municipal staff attended the HVCEO’s annual union labor contracts
analysis seminar.
-A Safe Routes to School grant package was forwarded to the municipality.
-The regional affordable housing web page was updated with the latest
municipal contact data.
-A map of traffic volumes in the community was added to the hvceo.org
web site’s transportation
page.

application for Section 13b-38bb grant funding for Senior bus transportation.
-Guido Tino. met with and provided information to Sherman’s
Emergency Management Director.

911 mapping for use by the

-The First Selectman was provided with background information on
use of Magic Salt.
CORNWALL
-Sent 2 files, 1) semi rural remote areas from the 1997 Growth Policy
and 2) Quaker Brook
Watershed.
HARTFORD
-The new water supply interconnections report was forwarded to the
CT Dept. of Health.
KENT
-Staff attended two meetings in Kent concerning the GE PCB remediation
funding.
NEW HAVEN
-Information on meeting procedures was forwarded to SCCCOG.
-The New Haven Regional Sewer Commission was provided with information
on local water
pollution control authorities to obtain sewer ordinances.
SOUTHBURY
-Bill Stax was provided with a copy of the River Trail Plan.
TORRINGTON
-Northwest Conservation District, provided a DVD of the 2004 State
flight raw data for review.
WASHINGTON
-The goals of the GO21 freight advocacy group were endorsed by the
HVCEO.
WATERBURY
-HVCEO data on Info Line was updated as requested.
