As about three quarters of HVCEO's annual funding is dedicated
to TRANSPORTATION
PLANNING, that concern is HVCEO's main function.
Comments concerning area transportation issues are welcome.
Access to HVCEO's many transportation studies is available.
Providing access to DETAILED
DEMOGRAPHIC DATA is a key HVCEO activity. Census
data for 2000 is being integrated into the current data base
as it is released in 2001, 2002 and 2003.
HVCEO staff serve as limited referral and reference desk function
for some planning related research questions. Calls responded
to are listed in the RECORD
OF LOCAL ASSISTANCE. A review of this record
indicates the types of information HVCEO is most prepared
to provide.
HVCEO produces its own series of PLANNING
PUBLICATIONS. Paper copies are available at ten
cents per page or at a fixed price per volume. A complete
set of municipal plans of development and zoning regulations
are available for review at the office.
Important
to the region are topical subareas such as WATER
SUPPLIES, EMERGENCY
PLANNING, AFFORDABLE
HOUSING and CASINO
OPPOSITION. These and more are referenced in

A wide variety of topics of intermunicipal concern are discussed
at MEETINGS of
the members of HVCEO, all of whom are mayors and first selectmen
in the area. Their LEGISLATIVE
AGENDA for the area is also available for review.
PLANNING MAPS
are a key to good local management and are the base for municipal
and regional studies. Paper or digital copies from the HVCEO
collection are available for a fee.

Housatonic Resources Recovery Authority (HRRA), a regional
