ROUTE 850 IN NEW FAIRFIELD OVERVIEW
Like the other eight hundred series state routes in New Fairfield,
Route 850 is unmarked. Route 37 signage indicates its use
as "To NY Route 22." At the New York State Line
it becomes Putnam County's Route 68.
Conn DOT Route 850 extends from the New York State Line
easterly to Route 37 for a total length of about two tenths
of a mile. The Conn DOT estimated average daily traffic volume
in 2000 was 2,500 and the Conn DOT functional classification
is minor arterial.
This route serves as a link from CT Route 37 to NY Route
22, located about two and two thirds miles apart, and in New
York State travels thru the highly scenic Haviland Hollow
Brook Valley in the Town of Patterson. Fortunately there are
no TASR rates of concern found on this roadway.
