SHORT RANGE IMPROVEMENTS
Some traffic improvements for Central New Milford are partially complete or have well developed plans. These can move forward in the short term:

Project 1: Continue with implementation of the 1996 Downtown New Milford Study's traffic related recommendations. Update the traffic component of this 1996 Study as necessary.

Project 2: Work with Conn DOT to complete construction, now underway, of the long awaited Grove Street Bypass and related reconfiguration of the Routes 67, 202 and Grove Street intersection.

Relocated Grove Street as it will align with Route 202.
Part of the New Milford Town Green is shown at upper left.

Project 3: Monitor Conn DOT whenever any Bridge Street signal changes are made, such that they incorporate the Bridge Street Signal Coordination Plan, thereby reducing travel times by 10%.

Project 4: Proceed to the preliminary engineering phase for the Patriots Way Bypass Plan, thereby improving the interface between the Boardman Road Corridor and Bridge Street. Coordinate this project with the proposed commuter rail parking in the area.
