EN ESPAÑOL

El Consulado de Oficiales Electos del Área Housatonic (HVCEO) provee planeación de transportación en la ciudad de Danbury y pueblos aledaños. El consulado está conformado por los Alcaldes de Danbury y New Milford, como también los Representantes Electos (Selectmen) de los pueblos de Bethel, Bridgewater, Brookfield, New Fairfield, Newtown, Redding, Ridgefield y Sherman.

Piensa usted que es difícil tener acceso al sistema de transporte público local? Cuales calles cree usted que deben, o no deben, ser expandidas? Algunos de los proyectos que HVCEO está considerando incluyen el mejoramiento de las calles y mejoramientos al tránsito; de igual manera, HVCEO considera el efecto que estos planes de mejoramiento tendría sobre los diferentes sectores de la población.

El HVCEO trabaja con ambos gobiernos, el estatal y el federal, para determinar a cuales proyectos de mejoras en transportación se les deben adjudicar fondos. Estas mejoras, o la falta de estas, afectan las vidas de las personas. Por esta razón al público en general se le pide que expresen sus opiniónes a los miembros de HVCEO, antes de que se tomen decisiones finales en cualquier proyecto.

A las personas que deseen hacer comentarios en Español para HVCEO, se les urge que lo hagan. Las siguientes son diferentes maneras de expresar sus comentarios al HVCEO:

La primera manera es llamando a la Srta. Viviana Espinosa, traductora official de HVCEO al 744-4070 Extensión 123. Sus oficinas estan localizadas en la 62 Federal Road en Danbury. Con ella puede exponer sus comentarios en Español acerca de las necesidades de transportación. Ella a su vez, sumarizará y traducirá éstos al Inglés y se los dará al representante de HVCEO, el señor Jonathan Chew. El llevará sus comentarios a los miembros de HVCEO.

La segunda m anera es hablar con el señor Chew directamente. En ese caso, la Srta. Espinosa y el Sr. Chew acordarán una reunión con usted en un lugar conveniente a usted. Cualquier resultado de esta conversación será llevado a los miembros de HVCEO.

La última manera de expresar sus opiniones a HVCEO en Español acerca de la transportación, es personalmente dirijirse a los miembros de HVCEO en su reunión correspondiente. En este caso, la Srta. Espinosa servirá como traductora en esta reunión. Las reuniones del HVCEO son abiertas a todos los residents de Danbury y sus aledaños mencionados al comienzo.

DISCUSS TRANSPORTATION ISSUES IN SPANISH
The Housatonic Valley Council of Elected Officials (HVCEO) provides transportation planning for the Greater Danbury Area. The members of the Council are the mayors of Danbury and New Milford, and also the First Selectmen of nearby Bethel, Bridgewater, Brookfield, New Fairfield, Newtown, Redding, Ridgefield and Sherman.

Do you have difficulty accessing public transit? Which roadways should, or should not, be widened? Projects considered by HVCEO include roadway and transit improvements and any impacts associated with those improvements.

The HVCEO works with both the state and federal governments to determine which transportation improvement projects will be funded in the area. These projects clearly affect the lives of people in these communities. The general public is, therefore, encouraged to express their opinions to the HVCEO members before they make a final decision on any project.

In an effort to be representative of the voices of as many of the area's residents as possible, HVCEO has instituted a mechanism through which the Spanish-speaking public can make transportation-related statements to HVCEO in Spanish. The following are three ways you can express your comments to the HVCEO:

The first way is to contact Ms. Viviana Espinosa, the Spanish translator representing HVCEO, at 203-744-4070 extension 123. She is located at 62 Federal Road in Danbury, the headquarters of the Housatonic Area Regional Transit District, the local bus company. Ms. Espinosa will summarize and translate all comments into English and forward them to the representative of the HVCEO, Mr. Jonathan Chew. He will then forward your comments to HVCEO members.

The second way is to arrange a meeting with Mr. Chew directly. In that case Ms. Espinosa and Mr. Chew will agree to meet with you at a location of your choice. Any resulting input to HVCEO will then be forwarded to the HVCEO members.

Lastly, you can personally address the HVCEO members at their meeting about transportation issues. If you choose this option, Ms. Espinosa will serve as translator at the meeting.

The HVCEO meetings are open to all citizens of the Greater Danbury Area. The public is encouraged to speak at the beginning of the meetings.
