REPORT ON DIBBLE'S BROOK AQUIFER
Located in northern Bethel between that Town's Stony Hill
and Plumtrees sections, this small aquifer of about 0.9 square
miles has favorable coarse grained sediments. Thus it could
be locally significant in supplying the needs of an increasingly
populous residential area.

Two community wells in the area presently yield better than
100 gallons per minute. Zoned R-40, for one family per acre
residential use, the direct recharge area is lightly developed
orchard and open land, wetland and low density residential.
Preservation of wetlands and open space, and strict controls
for on-site sewage disposal are key measures needed to protect
the hydrologic viability of this area.
